As we prepare to send two undergrads (Adam Shea (current president) and Andrew Chalmers) to Indianapolis for the annual Advising Symposium (Jan 9-10), we’re still raising funds to pay for the cost of their trip. Thanks to these recent donors – every bit helps:
We still haven’t covered our costs, though. Visit etaomega.org/donate to chip in.
Brothers,
Eta Omega has over 700 initiates since we were first became a chapter back in 1982. But having all those initiates is meaningless unless each and every alumnus participates in the betterment of the fraternity as a whole. That is why I am asking each and every one of you who reads this email to go online and make a minimum pledge of $10 to the Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity.Â
As many of you may already know we are in the planning stages of a major renovation of the house. The funding for this huge effort will be made possible through a loan from Theta Chi. Without their assistance a loan of this size would be next to impossible to obtain. Read more
Chico State is reaching out to Alumni with this video about “the Chico experience:”
“Chico State is a special place with a history we all share. Memories from places like Bidwell Park, the Quad, will stay with us forever. Click here to watch this short video and recapture the Chico experience.”

Not even 45 minutes after we blasted a newsletter e-mail to the ~380 alumni e-mail addresses we have on file, we got 4 credit card donations. Quickest to respond with their wallets were (in this order):
Update (7/25): A couple more guys stepped up recently…
Way to go guys – thank you. Every dollar is going to pay off the re-roofing project that was just completed. But we still have a long way to go.
Time for everyone else to chip in. When we receive checks, we’ll give credit on this site, too.
Here’s the e-mail newsletter, by the way (minus all the fancy photos)… Read more
It’s hard to see what’s really going on up there from the ground…but here’s proof that there is a big crane in the back yard, and laborers carrying around plywood on top of the House. It’s safe to assume that the re-roofing is being done, too.
According to Brother Brian Flournoy (of RSG Roofing Supply – who donated all the supplies for the project), it’s coming along well. There was a good bit of rotted “soffit and molding” that needed to be replaced…and they’re taking care of that as we speak. According to Flournoy, “…as for the top of the roof and the project, looks good and almost done. It will look great once all of the rotted soffit is replaced.”

Congratulations to the Spring 1998 pledge class rallying a trip to Chico this weekend for the 10-year anniversary of their initiation – or of their bid – or whatever. Guys: tear it up at Rileys, of course, but make sure to stop by the House to watch the roof get demo’d. Should be kinda cool to watch all that dry rot come down.
As mentioned in a previous post, we’re trying to send two undergrads to Indianapolis for the 152nd Anniversary National Leadership Conference.
Mark Geenen donated the first flight (for chapter president Adam Shea), using his United miles. Scott Harris just took care of the second flight (for chapter VP, CJ Scott), using a Southwest credit.
Yeah, they’ll be on different flights, but at least they’ll get to Indy and back for free.
We’re losing a good man – and an Alumni Board member – up in Chico. Brother Erick Sondeno, who along with Jim Hull, oversaw the entire Cottage re-build in 2007, is leaving Chico. Erick is the Alumni House Manager, but it’ll be a tough for him to be on-site at 630 w. 5th St. very often after he’s moved to his new home in San Francisco.
So, we’re in need of a new House Manager. If you have any nominations, contact us…or send your nomination to the OX List.
